Purple Star Tea from Botanical Biohacking is a premium herbal tea representing an enhanced version of the classical formula Xiao Yao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder), a foundational combination from the Song Dynasty text Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang for soothing Liver Qi stagnation with underlying Spleen deficiency and blood nourishment.

This well-established formula spreads Liver Qi, nourishes blood, strengthens the Spleen, and harmonizes the middle jiao. It addresses patterns of Liver Qi stagnation (often with blood deficiency and Spleen deficiency), commonly manifesting as emotional irritability, stress, mood swings, poor sleep, general grumpiness, breast distention, PMS symptoms, fatigue, hypochondriac discomfort, irregular digestion, or a wiry pulse—particularly prevalent in modern lifestyles with high stress or emotional constraint.

Purple Star Tea preserves the volatile oils (which are often lost in pill forms of similar formulas), ensuring full aromatic potency for effective Qi movement and relaxation. It is especially suited for those who want to promote calm, increase their mood, and smooth their energy flow—many practitioners even offer it in waiting rooms to help patients relax before consultations.

Highlights of this batch include:

•  Adjusted dose of Bo He (mint) to minimize potential headaches from Chai Hu in those with Yin/blood deficiency.

•  Wildcrafted Chai Hu (Bupleurum) from the Tibetan region for superior quality.

•  All herbs fresh and sulfur-free.

•  Tested for active ingredients, water content, and bacteria.

Processing: Herbs are ground, sieved (with regrinding of thicker materials for consistency), further dried, and sterilized with UV light before careful packing—ensuring even dissolution and potency in tea form.

Ingredients: Radix Bupleuri Chinensis (Chai Hu), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Dang Gui), Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae (Bai Shao), Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (Bai Zhu), Sclerotium Poriae Cocos (Fu Ling), Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis (Zhi Gan Cao), Herba Menthae Haplocalycis (Bo He), Rhizoma Zingiberis Officinalis Recens (Gan Jiang).

Preparation: Place 1–2 teabags into a mug and add 1 cup of boiling water. Cover and steep for 2 minutes (first brew), then 1 additional minute for re-brews. Re-brew the same teabags throughout the day with boiling water until flavor fades. Alternatively you can put 1-2 teabags in a thermos and drink throughout the day.

Net Weight: 150 grams (30 teabags per bag).

Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Seal tightly and refrigerate after opening. Finish within one month after opening for best quality.
